If you have ever dreamed of a Mountain top wedding, the Chapel at the Preserve can fulfill that fantasy. Coleen and Kendrick came to the Smoky Mountains to find just that. The quiet atmosphere and spectacular views captured their hearts and they knew it was perfect.
Their beautiful wedding was attended by their family in an intimate ceremony. Coleen was lead down the isle by Kendrick’s children, who were eager to call her their mom, to the music of violin and harp strings. As the ceremony went on every little detail seemed to be so thought out with loving care, personal to only the two of them. In the center of it all was their love for Jesus.
The first dance was so tender as the two could not take their eyes off of one another. This was followed by a beautifully laid out meal. The family was all smiles as they enjoyed the feast before them. A roaring fire in the back ground was a perfect ambiance. Everything was incredibly gorgeous.
The couple decided to add to their video and photos with shots from Cades Cove. As the sun set they went through the fields taking in all the natural beauty around them. Their children even joined in the fun, running and playing with their parents. The joy between this family was contagious. They were just beaming with happiness.
From the views from above to the valley below this was truly a perfect Smoky Mountain wedding.
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors that made this day remarkable!
The perfect Mountain Venue– Chapel at the Preserve
Sampson’s Hollow was the perfect location for Kelsey and Mathew’s October wedding. They had planned on having a destination wedding with their family and friends and as soon as Kelsey saw this beautiful venue, she knew it was the one.
The beginning of this love story started 2 years earlier when Heather, Kelsey’s cousin, knew these two would be a great match. She started planning for them to meet for 3 months and helped them connect at a hog roast she was hosting. Heather took Kelsey’s hand and brought her to Matthew and told them to “play nice.” It worked! The two hit it off right away talking through the night.
A week later they had their first date at Steak and Shake. Kelsey tried to play hard to get, but Matthew was so funny and charming she couldn’t stay away. She found out that his grandma had asked to “meet his girlfriend” and she realized if Gram thinks she is, she must be his girlfriend.
Everything just clicked from there. They both shared a love of adventure, but could still be happy relaxing at home. He introduced her to eating steak, which she now enjoys along with a dark beer.
Now they found themselves in the middle of the Smoky Mountains, dressed up with their family and friends promising to share this life together. Everything was truly beautiful. The night ended with smiles and dancing, and closed with the couple exiting with sparklers.
Special thanks to all the incredible people who made this event a day to remember!

The Chapel at the Preserve is such a perfect backdrop for a Smoky Mountain Wedding. From the moment Laura and Austin were engaged they wanted to bring their families together and this was an amazing place to do that.
Their wedding was absolutely stunning as Laura made her way to the love of her life. As they stood side by side they could not take their eyes off of one another. Everyone cheered as the kiss sealed the deal.
They danced the night away in each others arms until the little ones stole the show! Then the family showed off their dance moves.
The two families blended perfectly together. Laughter and smiles lite up the pavilion. Both sides of the family had helped set up and decorate and it had turned out amazing!
We have such a gorgeous wedding to share with you today! This wedding has quickly become a new favorite!! We had the pleasure of shooting Crissy and Jay’s stunning Jackson Terminal wedding in Knoxville, TN recently, which was designed by the talented Peggy Buchanan at Heels and Veils.
Every detail of the day was fun and inspiring!
We loved how Crissy and Jay incorporated board games into their decor symbolizing their dating life, full of laughter and competition. The lovely and colorful oranges and pinks in the flower from Melissa Timm Designs were a perfect way to display the fun and lightness of the centerpieces.
Crissy was a knock out!!! Her beautiful red hair had a perfect braid on the side that looked so elegant in her short locks. Alisa Sawyer at Grow Knoxville worked her magic and completed the look with stunning makeup.
The two decided that they would do a first look so that we could go around town in a bus!! This special moment was perfect as Crissy walked behind Jay and tapped his shoulder.
The wedding itself was a gorgeous affair filled with love and support from their family and friends. Crissy’s father seemed pretty confident his daughter had chosen the perfect man as he put his little girls hand in Jay’s. The wedding ended with the bride and groom going down the aisle and snagging another loving kiss.
Family and Friends could not help but to smile knowing that these two incredible people were so happy together. The reception continued with laughter, especially when the speeches began. We heard so many wonderful stories and even some good advice from the helpful family.
Once the sentimental tears were shed it was time to head on to the dance floor as the guests danced the night away thanks to Sammy Scott from Ogle Entertainment.
It was so amazing getting to know this wonderful couple. Their love for each other was so obvious and we were so happy to be apart of their joyous day!!!
Beauty and the Beast Party for our 5 year old Princess!
Every year my daughter asks to have a theme birthday party and this year she wanted it to be “Beauty and the Beast.” Like every mom, I checked Pinterest and got to work!
First I found some great ideas and started to get to work. Then my family and I hit the thrift stores to see what treasures awaited us.
We found an old tea pot, silver clock and candlestick holders . The finishing touch was putting a rose in a glass jar and lighting it up with white lights. These props helped bring the movie to life.
Then my daughter dressed as Belle and had a photo shoot.
Our family loves to dress up. We each pick a character from the movie in order to serve our guests.
Once the guest arrived we started games.
Our first game was inspired by Sleeping Beauty. You lay pillows on the floor in a circle and play music as the girls walk around the circle. Then when the music stopped the girls dropped to the floor to sleep on a pillow. If they didn’t get a pillow they were out.
Next was freeze dance to the song “Let it Go” from Frozen.
Finally we pampered the girls with a home spa treatment. We made avocado masks and put cucumbers on their eyes.
This was so much fun and I am so excited to think up a new theme for next year!
When Leigh and Philip were planning their big day they knew they wanted to represent their family heritage by having a Scottish Wedding. They were both very invested in the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games and decided to start their new life together with the old style traditions.
They chose Fox Den Country Club as their venue for the event. It was perfect! The beautiful green golf course provide a divine backdrop for the festivities. Carrie Wrinn, the wedding coordinator for the venue, made sure everything ran smoothly.
Lisa Foster’s flower arrangements were gorgeous. The colors and variety popped and added a beautiful flare.
Philip Kept with tradition and dressed in a kilt equipped with a Scottish Dirk. Leigh found a perfect dress to complement the theme.
Leigh’s hair and makeup were exquisitely done by Susan Clayton.
During the wedding Philip draped his family’s tartan across Leigh signifying her joining his clan.
Fox Den catered the event with a delicious dish of salmon and chicken.
The reception was so much fun as the guests danced the night away thanks to Drew Justice with Ogle Entertainment.
The two left with a beautiful sparkler exit from their family and friends.
Who says you need to be a kid to have your cake and eat it too? Our friend Jessica decide this was the year she would try an Adult Cake Smash. Her youngest child had just turned one and she throw him an amazing birthday party, with the traditional cake smash. It was so much fun and gave her an idea, why can’t an adult just dive in to their cake? She texted us at once asking if she could photograph this crazy event and of course we said “YES!”
So here is our play by play of an amazing celebration!
Every birthday needs a cake and cupcakes are the perfect size to dig in.
Another “must have” is the chalk board. It gives you up-to-date info on our birthday girl.
Since our birthday girl is over 21 she decided to add a drink to the festivity.
No cake is complete with out a candle and a wish!
Frosting on the candle should never go to waste.
Nether should frosting on your fingers.
Now is the time to “DIG IN!!”
Don’t try to be lady like because there is no use.
Noses need a little frosting too.
Our birthday girl has decided to wash it down with a bottle of red wine.
After cake it is time to play with balloons.
Special thanks to the one year old who brought the idea to our birthday girl!
Congratulations to our birthday girl Jessica! Thank you so much for letting us be apart of your special day!!!
Every year people love to come to the Smoky Mountains to see the changing colors of the leaves. This gorgeous fall occurrence has drawn many couples to decide on this location for their wedding. The Smoky Mountain Wedding Association is a wonderful resource for these couples. Swann Plantation is one of several featured venues offered. The rich history of this 130 year old estate gives a wonderful background to display the changing colors. From its barn to its magnificent fields and river, this gorgeous location is a perfect spot for any East Tennessee wedding.
Along with the romantic ambiance, this venue has a remarkable staff. The owners Shari and John are a delight to work with and have wonderful ideas on making your experience unique and beautiful.
We did a styled shoot with our model Sakaylea at Swann Plantation. Maree from Hello Beautiful, made our model shine with lash extensions.
The wedding gown was such a vital part of the shoot. We could not have asked for a more amazing crew then the ladies at Unforgettable Bridal who provided the lovely wedding dress. They used their expertise and helped us select the perfect look. They lavished our model with jewelry for the finishing touch.
Once we dressed our model, we made our way around the property. Shari gave us a grand tour in her ATV, highlighting her favorite photo-op locations.
We started in the front yard of the estate and made our way through the gorgeous pastures.
The creek bed and bridge prove to be gorgeous scenery for a bridal shoot.
Next we went to the historic barn. This beautiful building is a true gem.
From the stunning lofts to the artistic doors, the rustic setting was perfect.
There were so many wonderful props all around that gave us all fun ideas.
By the end of the night we were all laughing and smiling. It was a pleasure working with all the wonderfully creative vendors.
The Smoky Mountain Wedding Association has so many talented vendors who have a vision for the colors of the Smokies. The vibrancy of the trees and mountain landscapes make any wedding unforgettable.
